GSS-Sensor Systems Group
The group conducts research into instrumentation and measurement systems based on sensors. The activity of the group includes the system conception, the sensor design, the development of the electronic circuitry and the signal processing. Several measurement methods are used, being the most relevant the ultrasonic waves, the infrared radiation and the electromagnetic fields. The main applications of interest are nondestructive testing and evaluation, ultrasonic imaging, infrared spectroscopy, sensors for the food industry and thermoelectric cooling.
