Admission criteria
All admission applications are numerically evaluated using four criteria:
- A - Suitability of the competencies obtained in the master degree (up to 3 points)
- B - Academic records (up to 3 points)
- C - Knowledge of English language ( up to 1 point)
- D - Assessment by the candidate's tutor (up to 3 points)
In order to be accepted, the total points must be at least 6, according to the following scales:
A - Suitability of the master degree competencies
| The candidate's records show sufficient research training in the area of electronic technology and does not require training complements. | 3 |
| The candidate's records do not show sufficient research training in the area of electronic technology and training complement credits are required. | 1.5 to 2.5 |
| Master degree is out of the scientific or technical fields. | 0 |
B - Academic records
The assessment is based on the master's degree grades average weighted by the credits of each subject in a scale 0 through 10.
| Weighted average grade above 9.5 | 3 |
| Weighted average between 9 and 9.5 | 2.5 |
| Weighted average between 7 and 9 | 2 |
| Weighted average between 6 and 7 | 1 |
| Weighted average between 5 and 6 | 0 |
C - Knowledge of English language
| The candidate presents an English language certificate or has studied in an English speaking language | 1 |
| The candidate does not provide documentation about English knowledge. | 0 |
D - Assessment by the candidate's tutor
| Positive assessment with possible inclusion in a funded research project. | 3 |
| Positive assessment but no inclusion in a funded research project. | 2 |
| Neutral or negative assessment. | 0 |
