Abstract:

In this thesis a new method has been studied, tested and implemented to predict and analyze in the time domain, by
numerical methods, the electromagnetic behavior of transient interference in complex structures.
Due to the nature of the transients, they are more complicated to analyze and study that the continuous interference.
To solve some of these problems it was necessary to develop an alternative technique to measure sufficient
sensitivity and bandwidth. On the other hand, in order to ensure and quantify the quality of the simulation results in the
time domain, it was necessary to create a new validation method.
Having established the criteria for simulation, validation and measurement, the methods were tested on simple and
complex models. In all these different cases, we demonstrated the feasibility of the method for analyzing the transient
interferences. In this thesis, it was proved that the electromagnetic couplings within structures are very complex and
that without the help of the methodology, it is impossible to understand how or why they behave as they do. Finally,
using the method developed, the effects of the transient on digital communications systems are analyzed.
