FECYT and EURAXESS-Spain have recently published the "Guide for Foreign Researchers in Spain". Grants and Public Funding

There are different grants aimed to support contracting of PhD holders, and also for R&D mobilities. They are offered by European institutions, Spanish Ministries, Autonomous Government or even the University.


Electronic Engineering Department's Trust

PhD gratudates of the UPC-UIB Electronic Engineering PhD Program are encouraged to join the UPC Electronic Engineering Department's Trust for free. This is an association made up of individuals, institutions and companies that play an active role in the electronics sector. All members of the Trust can join its specific group in LinkedIn. Using this networking site, members can open discussion topics, promote ideas, receive post-doc offers and visit a job bank used exclusively by electronics professionals.


UPC Alumni

PhD gratudates of the Electronic Engineering PhD Program in UPC can join UPC Alumni, a service offered by UPC to its graduates, with the aim of fostering the interaction between UPC graduates through networking meetings and social networks (LinkedIn), as well as providing services related to the continuing education, access to labour market, entrepreneurship, sport, culture and leiseure. It must be noted that the LinkedIn group is particularly active.


EURAXESS- Researchers in Motion is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the countries participating in the European Union's Framework Programme for Research. EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion is a one-stop shop for researchers seeking to advance their careers and personal development by moving to other countries.

The EURAXESS web-site is composed of four main sections devoted to four specific initiatives for researchers:

  • EURAXESS Jobs is a stress-free recruitment tool where no charges apply.
  • EURAXESS Services is a network of more than two hundred Service Centres located in 37 European countries.
  • EURAXESS Rights provides all information regarding the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
  • EURAXESS Links is a network for European researchers working outside Europe.

Jornades Doctorials

These are workshop sessions for future doctors, that were organized yearly by catalan universities, with the collaboration of the Generalitat de Catalunya. These workshops aimed to provide future doctors with knowlegde of the state of research and innovation in Catalonia, Europe and elsewhere, to identify future trends, and thus be a tool for integration of future doctors into the labour market or into the research career. In July 2013 they were discontinued.
